Travel Around the World

Travel around the word, use desserts!

Dear Friends,

Thanks for your accompany, we go through several things, sometimes we may happy, sometimes may sad, and now, I just want to say I am so happy to have you in my life.

A couple of days ago, you might get my annoying questioning, “Could you tell me your traditional dessert in your country?” and you tell me patiently, fulfilled my tiny wish to travel around the world.

Today is my birthday, I can make a wish, right?
I wish I can help anyone I met, my friends will happy, healthy and we will be friends forever.

Sincerely,
Lunski

Reflection

Asia - Agriculture is more popular - Cereals - Fried Dough.
Europe - Animal Husbandry is more popular - Milk - Cream Cake.

People in different locations use their culture, weather, resources to make their desserts different from other countries.

After the gorgeous Tres Leches Cake, the dessert returns to simplicity, the same as the return to Classical after the Baroque period.

Questions

Why Spain has deep ties with Latin America?

The key is that between 1492 and 1502 Columbus sailed westward across the Atlantic Ocean four times, and the first voyage in 1492 landed on a small island in the Lucaya Islands, which Columbus named San Salvador (different from El Salvador), began to invade the Americas.

Cien años de soledad

French Guiana?

In 1604, the French began to invade, establishing settlements. Later Britain, the Netherlands, France and Portugal competed for this place until it finally belonged to France in 1816.

Why only Brazil speaks Portuguese?

Under the territorial rivalry between Spain and Portugal, Pope Alexander VI mediates, the papal meridian was drawn up, and the land east of the line belonged to Portugal, and the land to the west belonged to Spain, after several changes, Spain gained exclusive rights to the Americas, and Portugal’s occupation of Brazil was recognized.

What is difference between Belgian and Netherlands Waffles(Stroopwafels)

  • Belgian Waffles
Luikse, Liège: More rich, less airy, use pearl sugar.

  • Brusselse Waffles
Without pearl sugar, more air, deeper crevices easily hold jams, ice creams and fresh fruit, rectangle shape, these grid patterns are also nicknamed dimples.

  • Netherlands Waffles(Stroopwafels)
Just like cookies, two flat round contains Dutch molasses syrup, usually covered on hot tea before eat.

Thanks for my Belgian chef Gaudi.
